Modern Jeweler Points to Craft Trends
Trendy crafts may seem like an oxymoron, but one of the strongest trends in the urban scene is DIY handmade items. Knitting is coming back as a pastime. Hand decoration of shoes, shirts, and walls, with its aura of personalization, is replacing logos and brands as a signifier of taste. This influence is spreading into mainstream design as well, of course. In jewelry, hand finishes and organic-looking shapes that show the mark of the craftsman's hand are a very strong trend. Those who don't want to actually do-it-themselves represent a growing market for crafty entrepreneurs with an urban edge.

New line Swatch. Just let it gold
Swatch and Rolex form the couple that saved the Swiss timepiece industry of the 60/70īs decades, when Japanese began to invade the market with their quartz watches.
Swatch is the largest marktrade of watches that possesses all lines from the simple to the famous brands, more than the 20 brands, like Longines Rado, Omega, etc. And one of the characteristics of Swatch is to be always in the vanguard. This new collection of watches has that characteristic. The collection explores the gilding, where it uses a innovative technique called PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) in which each piece is sprayed with gold and bronze, directly in the steel. Therefore it doesn't suffer any scratch, not even the time will put an end to the shine of the piece.

Trends: Will clusters deliver the next fresh look?
Will cluster earrings be the next big trend? Inquiring minds want to know.
Clusters were all over the red carpet during awards season, but glance around any jewelry display and what do you see? Chandeliers, long dangles, and studs.
"Old habits are hard to break," said Sandra Graham, jewelry style director for eBay. "For so many years, too many years, the choice has been chandeliers or studs, nothing fun in between. There is a very definite buzz that started way back last fall when the designers presented their spring runway shows. It's been slowly making its way to the public, but it is here, and I think it will continue through the holiday and even into next spring."
Clusters look and feel so fresh, she said. "I am really tired of the shoulder sweepers tangling in my hair and the beads falling off my Boho chandeliers."

Where to put the diamonds next: I know your Sneakers
Do you want to value a product? Put gold and diamond in that product. Today, all want a different product from the others. This fashion began with cars, the larger wave now is the cellular phones. After the shoes and the bags. Now the tennis. Diamonds in the tennis, more value to the product. The basic model retails for around $7,500. Think about other products that you can throw in this sense. This can make success. All want the differentiation. Offer this.
